In honor of Adopt a Shelter Cat Month in June, the Berkshire Humane Society will be holding three feline microchip clinics in Berkshire County during June. The cost is $20 per cat and the first 20 customers at each location will receive a free cat safety collar. Feline Supervisor, Erin Starsja, says “The reason for the microchip clinics is to help solve the stray cat problem in Berkshire County and beyond. Only 1% of the strays that come through our shelter doors find their original owners.”
She added, “By microchipping the cats, we hope to greatly increase the percentage of happy endings.” The cost of $20 is very reasonably and includes not only the microchip but also the registration for “24 Pet Watch”, the Shelter’s microchip supplier. All cats, dogs and rabbits adopted from BHS are routinely microchipped. The feline staff will also microchip cats by appointment during the month of June at the Barker Road Shelter and Purradise Adoption Center in Gt. Barrington. Please call 413-447-7878 ext. 24 or 413-717-4244 for more information or to schedule an appointment. $20 Cat Microchip Clinic Locations:
